A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
The Sustainability Office, Campus Recycling, Transportation Services and Community Engagement & Leadership participate in - and provide - several new employee orientation activities including:

Sustainability related programs featured include our Sustainability Advocates network, Green Office Certification, Green Lab Certification, newsletter signups and general education about sustainability and materials management resources. The Sustainability Office's extremely popular annual succulent plant giveaway is part of this event to promote Green Office Certification.
-The Beaver Community Fair - a fall event that targets all newcomers to the OSU campus but primarily emphasizes student engagement and promoting waste reduction, recycling, and joining sustainability-related clubs and groups.
The Office of Human Resources maintains the New Employee Resources website that includes a link to the Sustainability website. The Sustainability Office maintains content and targeted outreach for new employees. This information is distributed to new employees along with information about benefits and other general information. https://hr.oregonstate.edu/new-employees/onboarding-guide and https://hr.oregonstate.edu/new-employees/about-osu
Please note that not all of these standard activities and events occurred the same way during the reporting year due to the pandemic, but have occurred within the last 3 years and continue in 2022.
