Green living guide
Yes
A brief description of the guide for green living and/or incorporating sustainability into the residential experience:
University Housing and Dining Services provides programs and information about sustainability in the residence halls and how students living in them can reduce environmental impact.
A program that is included in UHDS Sustainability Initiative is the use of Eco2Go containers. Eco2Go is a program that provides customers with reusable take-out containers. The goal is to prevent plastic and other types of food container waste from reaching the landfill. OSU estimates that Eco2Go kept 400,000 disposable containers from the landfill in the first year alone, and to-date has saved more than a million containers. The program is resuming in Winter 2023 after being on pause for 2 years due to COVID.

Additionally, the Eco-reps program includes green living and sustainability information directly delivered to residential students through paid employees in residence halls. In FY22, Eco-reps helped promote an online training focused on informing residents where to dispose of trash and recycling in the halls as well as what items are accepted in recycling bins. The course was launched in fall 2019 and every incoming resident was automatically enrolled in the course.
Eco-reps also helped promote outreach for events like Repair Fairs, Beyond Earth Day, hiring and recruitment opportunities for on campus sustainability related student employment, Waste Watchers and Race to Zero Waste.
