A brief description of the postconsumer food waste composting program:

OSU's post consumer food composting is similar to our preconsumer program in that is run through the local waste hauler, Allied Waste, with supplemental service provided by an Earth Tubs at the Student Sustainability Center.

Pre- and post-consumer food waste, plus hundreds of tons of other organic material, is composted about 10 miles from campus and returned to Corvallis for use. This minimizes transportation costs and impacts.
