A brief description of the post-consumer food waste composting program:
OSU's post consumer food composting is similar to our preconsumer program in that is run through the local waste hauler, Allied Waste, with supplemental service provided by two Earth Tubs (one at the Student Sustainability Center and one at West Dining Center).
Pre- and post-consumer food waste, plus hundreds of tons of other organic material, is composted about 10 miles from campus and returned to Corvallis for use. This minimizes transportation costs and impacts.
