A brief description of the institution’s sustainability partnerships with the local community:
OIT has numerous sustainability partnerships with local organizations and agencies. Faculty and students participate in activities sponsored by the Klamath County Library, Klamath Sustainable Communities, the Local Food Network, the Klamath "Leaf" of the US Green Building Council, and Klamath Watershed Partnership. Additionally, students and faculty work closely with federal agencies in the Klamath Basin including Klamath Tribes, US Geological Survey, US Forest Service, US Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service (Lava Beds National Monument and Crater Lake National Park) and Bureau of Reclamation. OIT's Environmental Sciences program has several formal partnerships with agencies, evidenced by Task Agreements or Memoranda of Understanding with US Fish and Wildlife Service, Crater Lake National Park, and Lava Beds National Monument.
