A brief description of programs, policies, infrastructure investments, outreach efforts, and/or other factors that contributed to the diversion rate:
We work with both Waste Management and REACH to recycle plastics, glass, paper and cardboard. We invested in trash compactor to minimize the number of trips needed to collect our landfill waste to about twice a month. We continue to participate in Recyclemania as outreach to our students and staff. We also recycle scrap metal from our engineering labs with a local company (not included in our 32 tons reported above).
