A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
The city of Klamath Falls composts sewer waste into a form acceptable for use as fertilizer by anyone who wishes to pick it up and use it. It is not recommended for food plants, but is recommended for lawn fertilizer. The OIT campus grounds department uses this City compost to fertilize its lawns each spring, thus eliminating the need to purchase synthetic fertilizers for campus grounds. This saves the campus a substantial amount of money and keeps nutrients and resources local.
