This annual, nationwide contest involves universities and colleges in waste reduction and recycling campaigns. Schools track and report recycling weights for 8 weeks of the term and compete in a variety of areas; OIT participated in the Grand Champion, Per Capita Classic, and Gorilla Prize contests.
A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign(s):
In order to participate, OIT tracks and reports its weekly recycling rate, pounds recycled per person, and total pounds recycled for 8 weeks starting in January. Simultaneously, various education campaigns are conducted. The positive impacts of the campaigns are measured in increases in recycling efforts.
