A brief description of the practice:
SUNY Orange has elected to convert selected printed publications to online versions. The College Directory is no longer printed but uploaded to the College website as a supporting document to an online searchable employee directory. The College Catalog (8 1/2 x 11) is now uploaded to the College website in an indexed version broken out by sections. What was once a 296-page publication with a print run in excess of 10,000 is now a 252-page document in which only 500 copies are printed (as desk reference copies for advisors and faculty who work directly with students). The use of online searchable schedule databases has allowed the College to reduce its print run of Course Bulletins by 2,000 per semester. Numerous College publications are also printed on paper comprised of partially-recycled materials through the Forest Stewardship Council program.
