No, the institution has not adopted a labor rights code of conduct in its licensing agreements with the licensees who produce its logo apparel. However, Ontario Tech is compliant with the applicable provincial and federal human rights, equity, labor and employment laws, and require the same of our contracting partners.

Within the RFP for obtaining a producer/dealer for Ontario Tech logo apparel, the following clause was included:
a) The Proponent will have ethical business and fair labor practices in
the procurement and manufacturing of apparel and other related products.

The successful producer/dealer for Ontario Tech logo apparel agreed to the RFP term and provided additional details related to their labor practices, including following the World Federation of Sporting Goods Industry’s Model Code of Conduct.

The university sells Adidas brand clothing which is part of the Fair Labor Accredited Companies.
