A brief description of the campaign:
Engage students and employees in waste reduction and awareness campaigns throughout the year with improved signage, information boots, and interactive waste sorting activities (sorting waste correctly, reusing items, donating items, etc.)
Waste Wise campaign aims to educate students and staff about waste streams and responsible consumption.

Reduce the volume of waste generated on campus and sent to landfills.
Aims to increase our diversion rates with improved waste and recycling signage across campus (with new sorting bins).

The Pollinator Project
A brief description of the campaign (2nd campaign):
The Pollinator Project, which encompasses We Grow Trees initiative (employees and students are given acorns and are challenged to plant and grow then transplant to the campus land), gardening (staff and students are invited on tours and help plant wildflowers, vegetables and herbs, some of which is donated to local soup kitchens) and our greenhouse
A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign (2nd campaign):
- Fresh, on-campus produce donated to food services on campus and to local food banks (Feed the Need Durham)
- students were able to learn gardening skills, about sustainability lifestyle habits
- students were also educated on climate change, carbon sequestration along with participating in over 150 trees planted annually.
