The sustainability literacy assessment includes questions focusing on culture and personal values, behaviours and awareness of campus sustainability. It was developed and distributed in November 2018, with a follow up in April 2019.

The cultural assessment is shared to the entire campus through various channels, including facebook, instagram, emails, banners and posters and word of mouth. Through contacting various departments, Student Life, Student Union and the span of our social media, a representative group is met.
A brief summary of results from the cultural assessment, including a description of any measurable changes over time:
There was a reduced sample size in the post-assessment due to exams and the end of semester; however based on the results the sustainability opinions and values of both samples (pre- and post- assessment) strongly agreed that 'it is important for young adults to understand sustainability'.
A larger percentage strongly agreed that 'Environmental stewardship should have priority over economic prosperity' (33% vs 39%, pre- and post- assessment, respectively). Both sample populations were aware of campus sustainability efforts and programs on campus. Both assessments reviled that the campus community would 'like to learn more about sustainability', 'participate in workshops relating to sustainability practices and most strongly agreed 'it is important to live sustainably so future generations are not negatively impacted'.
They also strongly agreed that 'It is important for young adults to understand sustainability'.
