The College does not have data for 2005-2008, therefore 2009 was used for the baseline for the waste and weighted campus user figures. Estimating 2005 figures using a trendline based on three years of data, as was recommended in the STARS Technical Manual, would have overestimated the amount of waste reduction. Using 2009 as a baseline was a more conservative approach.
