Documentation
Do the figures reported above cover one, two, or three academic years?:
A brief description of the methodology used to complete the course inventory :
A dataset containing module information (including learning outcomes) was compiled by merging an export from the student records system (Quercus) with the curriculum management system (Akari). Clinical and placement modules were removed from the dataset as per the STARS methodology.
Using MS Excel, the module information was scanned for 43 keywords (based on previous University of Galway research, link below). Modules which hit one or more keywords were then manually reviewed and classified as 'sustainability focused', 'sustainability inclusive' or 'no'. This classification was based on the STARS definitions for 'sustainability focused', 'sustainability inclusive', and the manual review was conservative. This likely resulted in an underestimation of the number of sustainability-related modules.
