Health Promotion coordinates university wide programs and speakers on various health topics including general wellness and nutrition, substance use, disordered eating, sexual health, stress management, etc. We offer exciting educational workshops, health information, peer training, campus events and so much more to enhance personal and academic success. The Commonwealth of Virginia has a state-wide employee wellness program free to all employees called CommonHealth. Employees do not need to be enrolled in the health insurance program to participate. The website is: http://www.commonhealth.virginia.gov/. CommonHealth offers many programs and initiatives related to fitness, nutrition, balance, and education on the website. Additionally, CommonHealth offers free confidential health checks every two years for all State and Local Choice groups as well as links for fitness center discounts in the state. CommonHealth representatives would also come to campus if their services are requested.
