A brief description of the institution's indoor air quality plan, policy, and/or practices:
Most of our occupied building space is monitored by a direct digital control system that immediately alerts the Facilities Management Department of any abnormalities in operation of the building air control systems. If any systems are malfunctioning they are corrected. We also have a web based work order system, Maintenance Direct (http://www.odu.edu/af/facilities/md/), that allows any building occupants to make requests for investigation or repair of any of the buildings systems. In many cases, if there are no clearly apparent system malfunctions, the Environmental Health and Safety office investigates by installing IAQ monitoring equipment in the area(s) of complaint and surveying the area for any other sources of poor IAQ.
The difference in the 2 above fields only accounts for the presence of the DDC systems. These spaces would still be investigated by Facilities Management and the Environmental Health and Safety office in the event of a reported IAQ problem.
