A brief description of the institution’s green infrastructure and LID practices:
OSU has developed rainwater collection systems for use in raw water irrigation. We utilize several bio-swales and rain gardens; and, we have placed permeable pavers on Monroe Street and the Student Union Plaza. Two large barrels are stationed in the Mother's Garden in front of the Rancher's Club at the Student Union to collect rainwater for use in that garden.

A brief description of the institution’s rainwater management policy, plan, and/or guidelines that supports the responses above:
The OSU Landscape Master Plan contains a section on Campus Outdoor Sustainability Strategies, which include: develop rainwater collection systems for use in raw water irrigation; using bio-swales and rain gardens to aid in trapping water, pollutants, and silt from stormwater runoff; increasing infiltration areas; utilize permeable paving to reduce stormwater runoff, and prevent evaporative water loss through the use of mulch in beds. Permeable paving is being incorporated into more and more designs; most campus planters rest on a permeable surface The University adheres to the City of Stillwater's Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) plan.
