RHA Eco-Representatives

A brief description of the student educators program (1st program):

The RHA Eco-Representatives are student residents who have a passion for helping RHA and residential halls become more sustainable. Eco-Reps volunteer their time to be student leaders and examples of sustainability in their residence halls. They promote sustainable practices, raise awareness about sustainability issues, and encourage adopting environmentally conscientious behaviors among their fellow residents. They also plan green events throughout the year to raise excitement about sustainability. See the Eco-Rep Handbook for more information!

There are 8 Eco-Reps in total and they are each assigned to assist two Board of Directors throughout the year with sustainability in their halls. They attend at least one Board of Directors meeting each month for each of their halls, and can help with anything from bringing recycling bins to your event, or advising you on how to make it more sustainable. Eco-Reps can also present presentations on “Sustainable Programming” or “Encouraging Sustainability” at your meetings. Eco-Reps are also in charge of delivering personal recycling bins to their halls whenever someone submits a request for one. You will see Eco-Reps being student leaders in your halls by acting as an example of sustainable living and being pioneers of green programming.
