RHA Eco-Repsresentatives

A brief description of the student educators program (1st program):
RHA Eco-Reps conduct outreach on energy and resource conservation within Res Halls. Recent activity has included promoting the ResLife Recycles program, collecting pledges on America Recycles Day, and promoting move-out collections and move-in recycling. Eco-reps communicate to students via visual displays, presentations, campaigns, tours, social media and Res Hall events. The program is administered by and receives funding from the Residence Halls Association (RHA), headed by the VP of Sustainability.

A brief description of the student educators program’s target audience (1st program):
The Eco-Reps serve approximately 6,000 students who live in single-student campus housing. This represents mostly freshmen and first-year students.

EcoHouse Learning Living Program

A brief description of the student educators program (2nd program):
The EcoHouse Living Learning Program is open to residents of any major who want to explore strategies for sustainable living. Living at EcoHouse, you'll learn about balancing resources with good stewardship of the environment, our communities, and the economy. EcoHouse will empower you to make positive change, applying your knowledge and experience to solve local sustainability challenges on campus or in the community. Together with like-minded peers, you'll participate in activities such as cooking with local foods, restoring watersheds, gardening or fixing bicycles.

A brief description of the student educators program’s target audience (2nd program):
The EcoHouse Peer Mentor would provide training, events, or activities for the students who were residents on the EcoHouse floor. Residents are expected to participate in an EcoHouse orientation event (fall semester), closing activity (spring semester), and 75% of other scheduled programming, including applying for the Green Student Initiative for a campus project. Residents will regularly contribute to the EcoHouse blog, interact with an EcoHouse mentor. All students with an interest in sustainable living are eligible to apply.
