A brief description of the child care program, policy, or practice:
According to the Flexible Spending Accounts section (revised 04/26/07) of the Staff Handbook, full-time employees may enroll in the flexible spending plan which authorizes the university to deduct a specified amount of pre-tax dollars from each paycheck. One of the four sections of this plan includes up to $5000 dollars per year for child care.
Employees under this plan can also file for reimbursement of the full cost of child care.
Employees are not allowed to bring family members to work for an extended period of time (not specified). If minor children are going to be visiting, it must be approved by the supervisor first.
Students may also apply for addition financial aid for education-related expenses. Child care is included as one of these related expenses.
