A brief description of the program:
Oklahoma City University provides recycling containers within the residence halls. When students separate their garbage into the recycling containers, the Facilities Department removes the upsurge in material for those weeks. However, this can only occur if the students take the initiative to separate recyclable materials from the general trash flow, which is highly encouraged.
One item that is frequently seen during the move-in/move-out process is cardboard boxes. Once designated to the recycle bins, facilities personnel picks it up and moves it to a bundling location. The cardboard is then compressed, bound, and removed to a recycling center.
