The Mission Statement on the Blue Goes Green Website reads, “Oklahoma City University is committed to developing and implementing programs that aim at making our campus ecologically friendly. To that end, Blue Goes Green, a staff and student lead Sustainability team, has partnered with foodservices, bookstore, facilities, nursing, career services, and other groups on campus to foster a culture of sustainability. From implementing a campus-wide recycling program to picking up litter, our goal is to Go Green!”

The time car is not only a resource for students who do not have a vehicle on campus, but it is an opportunity for students to lessen their “carbon footprint.” The time car website describes this system as, “A membership-based service that provides 24/7 access to vehicles on an hourly and daily basis. As a member, you reserve a car on the web or over an automated phone system. You unlock the car with a smartcard (a swiping device), drive where you want, and return the vehicle to its designated parking spot. Members pay an hourly or daily rate and are not charged additional fees for gas, insurance, maintenance or permanent parking.”
