Does the institution have a surplus department or formal office supplies exchange program that facilitates reuse of materials?:
Yes

None
A brief description of the program:
Although we do not have a surplus department, the reuse of exchange of materials is facilitated by both the purchasing and facilities departments, and our first preference is to use surplus materials internally. If this is not possible, we utilize the official British Columbia Government Asset Investment Recovery program (AIR) which is responsible for the disposal of surplus assets for the province of British Columbia. AIR determines the most sustainable method of disposal to guarantee that all assets are disposed of in and environmental friendly way. The AIR mission is to establish environmentally and socially responsible management practices. Assets that are broken are recycled; assets in good condition are sold in a retail setting or an auction.
