A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation :
All first-year and transfer students are required to attend Bobcat Student Orientation. Beginning in summer 2012, the Office of Sustainability has educated new students and parents at the Orientation Resource Fair about sustainability in campus living and in academic programs at the University. Sustainability has been incorporated into both graduate and undergraduate orientations in various other ways each summer, for example, the Orientation app highlights sustainability in multiple locations as an institutional value and priority; Sustainability "fun facts" are usually displayed on screen before and/or after main speakers; orientation tour guides have been train on and have used scripts about sustainability and sustainable aspects of campus. In addition, the OHIO Guide, which is provided to all incoming students, has a section allocated to Sustainability (see link below, Chapter 13, page 126).
