A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the research inventory:
Total researchers and sustainability researchers are defined, per our Research Division, as those principal investigators who have received external funding within the last year. This gives a underestimate of both total and sustainability researchers (does not include co-investigators), but ensures that numbers are accurate within the given assumptions. A grants tracking database (LEO) was used to determine numbers of researchers. In the attached research inventory, all known sustainability researchers are included, but only ones externally funded in FY21 are included in the numbers entered for this credit. The externally funded sustainability researchers are highlighted in green in the inventory.
