Does the institution have an ongoing program that offers incentives for academic staff in multiple disciplines or departments to develop new sustainability courses and/or incorporate sustainability into existing courses? :

A brief description of the incentive program(s):

In 2019, the Office of Sustainability was restructured to include 3 faculty affiliates (“Hub Coordinators”) from various colleges at Ohio University who promote sustainability initiatives from an academic perspective. One of the current faculty affiliates has developed a Sustainability Project Laboratory (SPL) to support faculty to incorporate “sustainability-related, multi-disciplinary, outcomes-based projects into their courses”. Projects from the SPL were incorporated into 4 courses in Spring 2020 (Sustainability Marketing, Sustainability Implementation, Ecohouse Seminar, and Environmental Studies Practicum).

A brief description of the incentives that academic staff who participate in the program(s) receive:

Each faculty affiliate is given a salary add-on of $10,000 and graduate student support.
