Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
NSU Apiary
A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
Dr. Venkatesh Shanbhag has worked with students to raise almost $4,000 to establish an apiary in the crowdfunding campaign called, "Save the Bees at NSU". Dr. Shanbhag and his students continue to save bees in unfortunate locations on campus, eliminating the otherwise high chance of extermination of the bees near buildings and walkways. He manages over 10 bee colonies that help the entire township's plants thrive, many of which would not survive without the efforts of Dr. Shanbhag and his students.
