The Student Sustainability Coordinators under Physical Plant work with multiple organizations including but not limited to, the student run newspaper The Current, with the business and marketing students in collaborative projects, the Department of Marine and Environmental Sciences as well as the Nature Club and Green Sharks Sustainability Club. The Green Sharks Sustainability Club also posts weekly sustainability tips and events online at Instagram. @nsu.green.sharks

Signage of sustainability features on campus include LEED certified buildings that are labeled with a LEED certification plaque, the plaque with years of Tree Campus recognition, various signage for the recycling program, and miscellaneous signage to advertise sustainability events and recurring programs.

Single stream recycling efforts and information is made available for all residential students. Additional resources are shared as necessary with residential and commuter students about a variety of relevant sustainability topics such as food waste reduction, solid waste reduction, energy efficiency, and more.
