Has the institution conducted a survey or other evaluation that allows for anonymous feedback to measure employee satisfaction and engagement during the previous three years?:
Yes
Percentage of employees assessed, directly or by representative sample:
69.20
A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:
As indicated above, NSU completes bi-annual employee surveys. NSU works with Quantum Workplace to host the survey. The survey (which includes questions that we have been utilizing since initial employee survey administration in 2007) allows us to make comparisons over time. The survey is web-based. Employees are invited to participate in early January. The survey remains open for a 3-week time period. Reminders are sent weekly to those employees who have not participated. Daily updates regarding participation rates are provided to deans and vice presidents.
A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation:
Reports are provided to supervisors whose employee team had a minimum of 5 respondents. Each supervisor is required to review the results with his/her employee team. The date by which employees are provided with the results and provided an opportunity to dialogue about those results is entered into a secure database. Each supervisor must then follow up with a “commitment plan”, developed in concert with his/her employees whereby they choose action items that they intend to work on to improve their levels of engagement/satisfaction in the work place. These commitment plans are also entered into the secure database. Thus, individual workgroups/teams are required to follow up on survey results/findings.
