A brief description of the diversity and equity committee, office and/or officer, including purview and activities:
We at Nova Southeastern University are a global teaching-learning community. Our goal is to create a campus environment that is genuinely respectful of every human experience. With over 116 countries represented, we acknowledge that there are too many to list here, but our sincere intentions are to be open to the diversity of voices that make up our multicultural community. Remember, we are all responsible for the academic, social environment we create and the world in which we live.
As one or our core values, diversity is guided by the importance of inclusion and affirmative practices in the classroom, coursework, and professional and collegial relationships. We are committed to educating our students in a manner that is respectful of all cultural traditions and practices, gender identities, sexual orientations, age, religious/spiritual beliefs, and in all areas that distinguish individuals.
