A brief description of the institution’s sustainability projects fund:
Every year $13,000 is allotted for NSCC Campus Sustainability Committees to spend on initiatives that promote sustainability in the College Community. The purpose of this fund is to raise awareness, increase participation, and educate the community of NSCC's focus on Sustainability.

Examples of past projects include: building bat houses or butterfly boxes, planting native wild flowers to bolster the population of bees, install bike racks and repair stations, purchase of reusable mugs or water bottles, planting trees, or any function that promotes sustainability (i.e. Sustainability Day / Week).

A brief description of the multi-stakeholder decision-making process used to determine which projects receive funding through the sustainability projects fund:
Submissions are initially reviewed at the campus level by the Sustainability Committee and submitted to the Sustainability Steering Committee Chair for approval. Once approved by the Chair, the request is then reviewed by the Director of Facilities and Engineering for final approval.
