A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation :
Each of NSCC’s 13 campuses have a sustainability committee. Volunteers from the committee set up a booth in a common area during the 2 days of student orientation. The booth has a poster with information on sustainability at NSCC and volunteers talks to students about what sustainability is and what it means to NSCC. This is also used as an opportunity to advertise our sustainability assessment survey to students. Sustainability themed prizes are given to students for participating in the survey and for taking the time to stop and talk to volunteers about sustainability. This is a great way to educate students about sustainability and what they can do to get involved.
