A brief description of the natural wastewater systems used to handle the institution’s wastewater:

NSCC’s wastewater is managed by treatment plants in the local areas, many are rural areas that treat water to Nova Scotia’s provincial standards. Urban campuses waste treatment system is an advanced primary which feeds into the ocean. Due to the amount of land needed, and cost of having on site wastewater treatment, on site management is not viable.

The website URL where information about the institution’s wastewater management practices is available:

NSCC documents all water consumption each academic year, 2015/2016 water consumption value was used as “Total wastewater discharged”.
