A brief description of the technology employed:
The waterless urinals installed at NSCC work completely without water or flush valves. A liquid barrier urinal trap utilizes a method and technology to move urine into the waste system and eliminate urinal odors. As part of water reduction strategy, NSCC is phasing out old urinals and replacing them with waterless urinals. The Institute of Technology Campus, Waterfront & Centre for the Built Environment Campus, and Marconi Centre for the Built Environment Campus have all started using 100% waterless urinals. Waterless urinals are incorporated in all NSCC renovations and new construction.
