A brief description of the postconsumer food waste composting program:
Four of our campuses use Aramark to cater the cafeteria. Aramark follows the same standards at each campus and composts all food waste.
Our metro campuses, Waterfront, Akerley and the Institute of Technology all follow Halifax Regional Municipalities Green Bin program, which composts all food waste including meat waste.
Our Burridge and Shelburne campuses compost all food waste on site and use the compost for their greenhouses.
