Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
Northwestern doesn't keep a centralized database of all community service hours and numbers of volunteers. To get the number of community service hours above, we looked at larger-scale community service events held throughout the year and car rental hours for student groups engaging in community service. To get the number of students engaged in community service, we added Greek life and residential college counts (who are required to do community service), as well as the number of students transported by community service vans. The reported numbers give a good snapshot of our student body's involvement, but they are not complete.
