A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation :
In 2022, we confirmed that orientation included several sustainability booths and presentations during all transfer, summer, and fall on-campus orientation sessions. Most noteworthy is a sustainable dining presentation at all sessions, led by NMU Dining (Outline of presentation is attached). NMU Recreation also provides all students with information about sustainable transportation and resources for safe walking and biking to campus and there is an overview of the Green Fund and sustainability related student organizations during the "Involvment Opportunities" session for all on-campus and transfer student orientation sessions.
