Which of the following best describes the primary source of funding for the sustainability projects fund?:
Student fees

Year the institution’s sustainability projects fund was established:
2,020

A brief description of the institution’s sustainability projects fund:

The Green Fund is a student-paid fee that allows EcoReps to promote sustainable initiatives on campus. The fund has paid for a demonstration solar array, clover lawn, pollinator and rain gardens across campus.

A brief description of the multi-stakeholder decision-making process used to determine which projects receive funding through the sustainability projects fund:

The EcoReps’ Green Fund Fee proposals would go to the NMU Sustainability Advisory Council, which has student, faculty, staff, administration and community representation. The Council would review the proposals, add additional commentary (more information on timeline, costs, benefits, etc.) and prioritize the projects, initiatives, and operations in a funding recommendation that would go to the President’s Executive Council.
