NMU has various building signage which highlights green features of buildings on campus. These include signage indicating no-mow/pollinator zones, LEED certification obtained in construction of certain buildings, signage indicating the availability of single-sort recycling, and signage showing the number of bottled water containers saved from use of water bottle refilling stations.

A brief description of the sustainability walking map or tour:
NMU offers tours and information on its LEED certified green buildings. These tours includes information on various sustainably-designed features and their benefits/purposes. A brochure is included which lists these features that are part of toured buildings (see attached). NMU Trailhead with sustainable transportation information for on-campus residents

A brief description of the guide for green living and/or incorporating sustainability into the residential experience:
The "Turn Down the Lights" initiative encourages the students, faculty, and staff of Northern Michigan University to be more conscious of their energy consumption. The “Fix it Friday” initiative focuses on material culture and changing the way people think about the objects they own, especially clothing. Instead of throwing out clothes with a tear or missing button, the EcoReps want to help you fix it! The “Tune up Tuesday” initiative provides quick fixes for bicycles during the fall and spring.
