Sustainable Theater

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:

Since 2008, Northern Michigan University professors and student have been working to produce more responsible, more sustainable theatre. In December of 2016, the theater department presented a version of the play "Scrooged" where all costume & props for the show came from recycled materials. The initiative was a great success and brought community attention the role of sustainability in the arts, and the Theater program has committed to using recycled materials in all of its future shows.
