Within the NAU Foundation, a diverse composition of stakeholders, including alumni, trustees, and others, contributes to its organizational framework. The Foundation's investment committee is actively participating in discussions surrounding Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) matters. The committee recently completed a study to appraise the integration of ESG principles within the existing investment portfolio, in which academic faculty and student participation played a pivotal role.

Examples of CIR actions during the previous three years:
The topic of ESG investments has been consistently on the agenda of the investment committee since January 2023. Simultaneously, the committee is advancing through a comprehensive review phase, coupled with a Request for Proposal (RFP) process, aimed at identifying an appropriate investment manager for the NAU Foundation. As part of this review, the committee will be reviewing ESG best practices as recommended by candidates to determine the best strategy regarding conscientious and sustainable investment. This integrated strategy underscores the NAU Foundation's commitment to forging impactful investment pathways while inclusively incorporating insights from academic and student stakeholders.
