Does the institution host a food bank, pantry, or equivalent resource focused on alleviating food insecurity, hunger and poverty among students?:
Yes
A brief description of the food bank, pantry, or equivalent resource:
Louie's cupboard provides perishable and nonperishable food, as well as hygienic resources to the NAU community. It aims to alleviate food insecurity and create equal access to resources. The concept of a campus food bank started with a class project geared towards social movements. Now each year we serve hundreds of students, staff, and faculty through biweekly food distributions, and regular access to the cupboard throughout the week. We provide nonperishable canned and boxed goods, fruit, meat, beans, pasta, grains. We also now offer eggs, fresh fruits, vegetables, and bread.
