Part 1. Greenhouse gas emissions inventory
Yes
A copy of the most recent GHG emissions inventory:
A brief description of the methodology and/or tool used to complete the GHG emissions inventory:
NAU uses SIMAP for annual emission reporting calculations, previously known as the Campus Carbon Calculator: Carbon Management and Analysis Platform (CarbonMAP). We report our emissions annual or bi-annual through Second Nature.
Scope 1: Natural Gas numbers and an analysis of vehicle miles traveled per campus vehicle type.
Scope 2: Electricity bills and purchased RECs
Scope 3: Climate Science and Solutions Graduate class- Commuting and Air Travel

Has the GHG emissions inventory been validated internally by personnel who are independent of the GHG accounting and reporting process and/or verified by an independent, external third party?:
Yes
A brief description of the GHG inventory verification process:
A graduate class in our Climate Science and Solutions reworked through our emission data as well as additional Scope III calculations for Commuting and Air Travel projections in the Spring of 2019. We are working with a CSS Graduate Student and Debbie Huntzinger to create a management plan for calculating our air travel emissions in the summer of 2020.
Documentation to support the GHG inventory verification process:

A brief description of how the institution accounted for its Scope 3 emissions:
We have conducted some Scope III commuter and air travel samples in past years. However, without a process in place, these emissions have not been calculated. We plan to utilize on campus learning opportunities and an update to our climate action plan to further address these holes in our emission reporting.
