United Way of Northern Arizona believes that each individual deserves a quality education that leads to a stable career, earn enough to support a family through retirement, and enjoy good health. NAU's Civic Service Institute (CSI) mobilizes generations to strengthen communities through service and volunteerism. CSI provides the largest, most diverse and effective pool of volunteers to meet the needs of communities and neighborhoods throughout Arizona.

We recorded 832 staff volunteers that completed 283,134 hours of public volunteer service with the following programs, who served throughout Arizona. Below is the breakdown figures for the 2018-19 fiscal year:

• AmeriCorps Arizona Ready for College and Career Members: 298 volunteers with 40,195 hours
• AmeriCorps VISTA Members: 17 members with approximately 30,000 hours
• Foster Grandparent Volunteers: 114 volunteers with 106,226 hours
• RSVP Volunteers: 317 volunteers with approximately 20,000 hours
• Senior Companion Volunteers: 86 volunteers with 86,713 hours
