A brief description of the institution’s green athletics program, including the specific initiatives selected above:
Every year, NAU hosts a Green Game. A home football game where we strive for zero waste. All the concessions throughout the year are made of compostable materials and for the Green Game a group of volunteers come out and stand by trash, recycling, and composting stations to ensure everything is properly disposed of. Educational materials about sustainability are included in the events marketing materials as well as on the jumbotron.
