A brief description of how the employee educators are selected (1st program):

As the University moves forward with its 18 Million Dollar energy efficacy performance contract, certain employees and student workers will become green champions for the university with the goal of peer-to-peer outreach that will engage all residential students and all employees. These green champions are selected by the Office of Sustainability as they are recognized to show passion and knowledge in field of sustainability.


A brief description of the formal training that the employee educators receive (1st program):

Every green champion employee or student worker will participate in a formal green champion workshop or training session. In this session they learn what sustainability goals, initiatives, and commitments the University has implemented in the past, present, or plans to for the future.


A brief description of the staff and/or other financial support the institution provides to the program (1st program):

Within the NORESCO project, these is a substantial amount of funding dedicated to both the green champions program and to fund 2 employee positions dedicated entirely to the educational program as the campus receives energy efficiency upgrades.
