ENVIRONAIT COMMITTEE
Primary focus on operational aspects which for the most part include waste management, grounds, energy management / operations, food services, corporate communications and purchasing. The committee currently meets on average once a year. We have coordinated Earth Hour activities on campus, provided educational seminars during professional development days for NAIT staff, maintain a web page which includes articles related to sustainability as well as any campus news related too.

Parameters & Process
• The committee will meet monthly until the 2009-2014 Sustainability Strategy is completed and then will meet as required at a minimum of four times annually to provide an update on goals and revise the document as required.
• Recommendations for initiatives will be based on analysis which considers impact on people, resources, agreements, legislation and NAIT 2021.

Although the institute does not have a full time Sustainability Officer, it should be noted that NAIT hired a full time STARS Sustainability Renewal Coordinator to oversee completion of NAIT's second STARS submission.
