- In 2013, Chair of the Alternative Energy program was a speaker in the City of Edmonton's 'The Way We Green' speaker series. He also provided consultation on how to execute the city's 'The Way We Green' plan and participated in an advisory committee for Edmonton's renewable energy task force.
- NAIT continues to work with local municipal governments on creating safe and efficient water waste/water treatment facilities and operator training.
