North Seattle College recently completed an inventory using the Equity Resource Bank Tool. The Equity Resource Bank (ERB) Tool is starting with reviewing/inventorying racial equity in an understanding that documenting common practices, to improve campus climates, is an important step to examining critical work being done to improve equity. This tool is intended to use critical race theory discussion of community cultural wealth at the Community and Technical Colleges within Washington. As a tool, it asks colleges to share work done within your institution at the division, department, and/or committee level to improve racial equity for student, faculty, staff, and/or community members.

A brief description of the most recent assessment findings and how the results are used in shaping policy, programs, and initiatives:
The most recent assessments have shown that underrepresented groups need more financial support to attend and succeed. Also, assessments have shown we need to better diversify our faculty and staff. As a result, the Seattle Colleges has embarked on two big initiatives district wide: 1. An Equity Can’t Wait $50 million fundraising campaign that has already led to the commitment to hire advisors focused on serving BIPOC students and a men of color initiative. 2. Seattle Colleges Equity Charge 2023 that targets key areas where we need to improve such as hiring, retaining students of color, and developing anti-bias anti-racist trainings.
