The Teaching and Learning Center helps facilitate the "Salon in the Library Series." This series invites the campus community to come hear from various faculty about their projects, publications, experiments, and so forth in a casual environment with time for conversation. Faculty from all departments present over the course of the year, so the learning is broad. One training in March 2020, discussed climate justice and how climate touches all aspects of our lives and the academic subjects we teach.

In this presentation, we will discuss Climate Justice and how climate touches all aspects of our lives and the academic subjects we teach. I will also share my own journey from climate scientist at UW, working with my PhD advisor and co-author of the first IPCC report in the late 90's, to climate activist, on the front lines of the climate movement today.

More information on my journey "From Scientist to Activist" is in the following Medium article: https://medium.com/@huprice/from-scientist-to-activist-5a4ffe13e2c

TLC Talks podcast
produced by the Teaching and Learning Center at North Seattle College featuring discussions with faculty, staff, administration, students, and others about pedagogy, student services, leadership, and anything that relates to teaching and learning in higher education. In May 2021, TLC Talks Podcast hosted the Climate Justice Institute. This episode included a conversation about this summer’s Climate Justice Institute developed by Dr. Heather Price to help faculty working across the curriculum weave climate justice topics into their curriculum. Members of the 2020 cohort – Laura McCracken (English), Karlee Ikebara (ESL), and Christie A. Markowitz Santos (the Equity and Welcome Center) – talk about what they learned and how they have incorporated their knowledge into their curriculum and work.
